(Honolulu, Hawai‘i) — Honolulu Cookie Company has named Richard Witt Hawai‘i District Manager, responsible for day-to-day oversight of the company’s 13 retail locations throughout the state of Hawai‘i.

“I knew that joining Honolulu Cookie Company would be a great way of working for a company that was truly involved in the community,” Witt said. “The company’s values align with my own philosophy about leading a retail team and giving back to the community.”

Witt began his retail career as a junior in high school working at Footlocker in Aiea and during his tenure was awarded Rookie Store Manager of the Year for Outstanding Sales Performance. He then moved to Lids, where he managed the Hawai‘i District’s top-performing store in terms of sales volume, then rose through the ranks and earned a promotion to District Sales Manager.

His promotion continued to bring him extensive experience, by leading Lids Districts in Hawai‘i, Los Angeles and New York, as well as running the 40,000 square-foot Super Bowl XLVII NFL shop in New Orleans. Additionally during his Lids tenure, he received Lids’ most prestigious award, District Sales Manager of the Year for the entire company.

Growing up in Hawai‘i prepared him for time spent in mainland markets with diverse populations. The time away also helped him appreciate the uniqueness of the islands, to which he and his wife of 12 years returned in 2014.

Witt reports to Julie Plant, recently named Vice President of Retail. “Richard is a great addition to the Honolulu Cookie Company team, as he shares our core values of taking good care of our customer-facing retail associates, to ensure that our customers receive the best-possible experience,” she said.
